Melanie earned her undergraduate degree in Exercise Science from Brigham Young University and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from East Tennessee State University. Her path into pelvic health began with her own experience as a mother of four, giving her firsthand insight into the physical and emotional changes women navigate across the lifespan. That personal journey, paired with her clinical training, sparked a lasting drive to dig deeper, ask better questions, and deliver the kind of thoughtful, whole-person care she found was often missing.
As co-founder of Empassion, Melanie brings a grounded, systems-based approach to healing—balancing research, clinical excellence, and a deep respect for each person’s story. She’s especially passionate about grassroots change in healthcare and believes the most powerful solutions often start from the ground up. She plays a central role in shaping the clinic’s learning culture, always working to refine care, support the team, and push the field forward.
Outside the clinic, Melanie loves spending time with her family—especially now as a “Mimi.” She also enjoys traveling, hiking, biking, and paddle boarding, and is known for tracking wellness metrics just for fun. She’s happiest with good food, a full passport, and more browser tabs open than anyone reasonably needs.
